Early July was Mont-Tremblant – a great destination and fabulous weekend despite 96 degree temperatures and a broken halfshaft in practice in the Lotus 77 on the first day. Duncan Dayton came through with a spare halfshaft from his Lotus 79 and we got it installed just in time to join the race from the pitlane on the green flag and was able to finish mid-pack.


Monaco and Rush

Arriving at Heathrow at 6:15 on the morning of May 17 following a quick trip back to the States after Monaco, I drove directly to the Rush movie set at Blackbushe Airport, about 40 minutes away.

 

Event Report: Goodwood and Silverstone 2012

The Goodwood Festival of Speed was a lot of fun -- more than I expected for a drag race up a driveway! Although each run is very short (my best times were 53-54 seconds), the turns are challenging, it was raining off and on, speeds exceed 125 mph, and there's even less room for error than at Monaco.

1978 World Championship Lotus 79s Black on Track

Three JPS Team Lotus type 79s have taken to the track together, for the first time ever.  At Snetterton on Wednesday 4th May 2011, 33 years after winning the 1978 Formula One World Championship, Classic Team Lotus ran three JPS type 79s; chassis 1, 2 and 3.

Heikki Kovalainen Drives Checkered Past Racing Lotus 77!

Lotus F1 driver Heikki Kovalainen enjoyed some hot laps in 77/3 at the Annual Lotus Festival at Snetterton Circuit in June 2010 and at the Lotus test track at Hethel the previous month.

Historic Formula Junior Turnout at Monterey

The 2008 Monterey Historic Automobile Races paid tribute to the 50th anniversary of the Formula Junior series,  attracting a record turnout of more than eighty front- and rear-engine Formula Junior cars for competition in three race groups.

Adventures in Monaco

The 2008 Grand Prix Historique de Monaco was a fantastic weekend of racing and socializing with family and friends, but for Chris Locke's Lotus 77, gearbox failure brought Sunday's race to a premature conclusion.

4-5 Finish for Classic Team Lotus at Donington

James King, driving an ex-Fittipaldi Lotus 72, and Chris Locke, driving an ex-Andretti Lotus 77, finished 4-5 for Classic Team Lotus during a wet and cold "Grand Passione" weekend at Donington Park in England.
